Evangelist Betty Burnett

Evangelist Betty A. Burnett is a native of Gibsonville, NC, but relocated to Greensboro, NC during her pre school years. She is a mother to many, sister, aunt, and friend who have experienced family life in both the traditional and non-traditional ways. Evangelist Burnett has shared that her early life was not easy, admitted mistakes were made, acknowledged God’s grace and mercy in allowing her the privilege to survive, change and testify to others.

Even though her personal testimony is not all sunshine, the fast life she sought in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania did not satisfy or please her after short periods of time, because God had a plan for her. A higher education was pursued, and as noble a profession as nursing was acclaimed, it did not fill the void in her life. Evangelist Burnett’s triumphs started on March 15, 1982 when she received Jesus Christ as her Lord and Saviour, and her twenty-six year walk with God has been victorious. Prior to accepting Jesus as her Lord and Saviour, she returned to an urban setting. Evangelist Burnett joined several churches during her spiritual walk and often lived in situations outside her comfort zones, but through it all God sustained her.

In the year 2000, Evangelist Burnett received her license to minister at St. Paul Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James W. Fisher and she became an ordained Evangelist in 2002 at The High Point Educational and Missionary Baptist Association through the recommendation of St. Paul.

Evangelist Burnett has ministered in various capacities at Saint Paul Baptist Church, where she is an Associate Minister. These are some of the services she passionately ministered in: Youth Minister, taught the New Members Class, Coordinator for the “Summer Enrichment” Program, drove the van for the after-school program, taught the Adult Sunday School Class, Young Adult Sunday School, assisted in helping other ministries to do programs and assisted in several projects, shopped at Second harvest Food bank and Urban ministry for different ministries, drove the church van for the Senior Travelers, ministered to many families through her God given creative poetry, and she ministered to many Saint Paul bereaved families by designing funeral programs. Evangelist Burnett has also done much behind the scene ministry, and she still is very actively serving in these capacities: Teach a Bible class (Senior Travelers) monthly, Chaplain for the Boy Scouts (Troop 226), Leader of the Evangelism Class, Writer and Producer (Poetry and Drama). She presented several plays from 2001 until the present time at St. Paul and other places.

Evangelist Burnett’s creative writing of poetry began in 1995 and drama had its beginning in 1998, while she was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church in Ruffin, North Carolina. She authored and produced numerous plays from 1998 until the present time. The Lord has blessed her with a dual fivefold ministry call of Evangelist and Prophetess. She plans to travel and minister globally through drama as well as evangelizing and operating in her prophetic call. The Lord established her ministry “Jireh Production”, Core of Burnett Ministries.
