Michelyn “Mikey” Hood-Tinor has been married to Rev. Marco A. Tinor since October of 2014. She is the founder of The Pittsburgh Spot LLC. The Pittsburgh Spot is an interview program that focuses on promoting the faces, businesses, and creative innovators that make up a “Cultural” Pittsburgh. Michelyn is a graduate from the University of Pittsburgh. She earned her degree in Communications with a focus in Journalism. She is currently pursuing a M.B.A in Journalism and Mass Communication from Point Park University.
Michelyn is a member of the Talent Group Agency and has been featured in various TV productions such as KDKA and Comcast. Michelyn has also been featured in print ads representing major companies like Med Express and FedEx. In addition, Michelyn has also appeared in local and national commercials.
In 2016 Mrs. Tinor was recognized by the New Pittsburgh Courier as one of the Fab 40. In 2015 Michelyn was recognized as one of Pittsburgh’s 40 under 40 by Pittsburgh Magazine, a coveted award that recognizes it’s inductees overall impact on the Pittsburgh region. In 2009 Michelyn was nominated as one of “Pittsburgh’s 50 finest.”
Michelyn has experience in the media industry and has worked with WAMO, BET and Comcast Spotlight. Michelyn is the 2013 Urban Innovation Small Business Grant award recipient. This award is given to entrepreneurs as an initiative aimed at promoting business development in the Hill District.

Currently Mikey works as the National Sales Director for VisitPittsburgh, the official tourism guide for the city of Pittsburgh. Mikey also served as the weekly “Mount TV” spokesperson for Mount Ararat Baptist church for serveral years as their inagural host.
